Wednesday afternoon a wildfire broke out on the small mountain behind One Mile Lake, easily visible from the parking lot of the Petro Canada on Highway 99. The BC Forest service fought it with both medium sized water skimming Air Tractor water bombers and large retardant dropping aircraft. Local helicopters from Blackcomb Helicopters added helicopter water bucketing.
