The Steven Page Trio in concert on Canada Day at the Whistler Olympic Plaza.

Former Barenaked Ladies frontman Steven Page played the Whistler Olympic Plaza for a special Canada Day concert.  Being  Canadian guy who came of age in the early 90’s (and I date myself that I actually had a newspaper beat to photograph live music at local bars), the Barenaked Ladies where a major part of the Canadian music scene in the early and mid 90’s.  It was an awesome set, with Page playing nearly two hours.

It was quit a show, it was actually the Steven Page Trio, with Craig Northey from the famed 90’s Vancouver band The Odds on guitar and producer Kevin Fox on the stand up bass.  They even had a sting quartet in on the action.

I ran into old time original Whistler locals Cathy Jewett and Charlie Doyle having a good laugh.

Happy Canada Day everyone,
